Autocrat Sires 2010 USDF MATERIALE HORSE OF THE YEAR

Autocrat sired ANA ISABELLAH - 4 & 5 Year Old Mare, 2010 USDF MATERIALE HORSE OF THE YEAR.

Anna Isabellah was also just awarded the AHS (American Hanoverian Society) 2010 Materiale Award in the Fillies and Mares Division - Three-, Four- and Five-Year-Olds with a 83%.

And was also awarded the

2010 AHS EQ|quest FEI Test Awards Perpetual Trophy as the Reserve Champion in the USEF FOUR-YEAR-OLD DIVISION. Autocrat was the only North American Based Sire of the Six Champions and Reserve Champions for the 4, 5 and 6 yr old FEI Divisions.

Ana Isabellah (Autocrat x SPS Indulla (Inschallah x Furioso II) is owned by Jan & Gary Marquardt of Walkabout Station in Texas, ridden by the young rider/trainer Erika-West Danque and bred by Sherry White of Graystone Farms. This award is not breed specific so it encompasses all 4 or 5 year old mares of any breed, domestic and imported. The horses are evaluated under saddle and are scored for their gaits & conformation.

Ana Isabellah also had a terrific year showing in dressage with Erika –West Danque on top. Ana Isabellah:

· Qualified and competed in the Four Year Old Markel Young Horse Championships in 2010 at Lamplight ridden by Erika and was 14th in the Nation. This competition is open to qualifying selected domestic and imported 4 yr old horses.

· Was the High Score Champion and received the Hedley Lamberty Owner's Trophy for 2010 at the Houston Dressage Society Spring Classics I And II- April 24, 25, 2010

· Was the High Score National Champion & the High Score Hanoverian at the Houston Dressage Society Summer Shows I & II June 12 & 13.

· In 2010 Competed at Training level with scores frequently over 70% and as high as 74.80% and at First level with scores as high as 75.667 %.

· Nov. 4 & 5, 2010 Ana Isabellah was Reserve Champion Region 9 Training level with a score of 72.40%.

Astrix by Autocrat Wins Big At the 1st Qualifier for Cup Classes for the
2010 Toronto Royal

Astrix (by Autocrat) won both classes (Approximately 42 entries in each class) at the first qualifying show for the Governor Generals Cup (in hand) and the Lieutenant Governor's Cup (Under saddle). Astrix is by Autocrat out of the Hanoverian mare We Hilary (by Wenzel), bred & owned by Steve Smith & Alexa Hell. The qualifiers are used to narrow the competitive field for the highly contested Cup Classes at the Toronto Royal Fair held in November. The Governor Generals Cup & the Lieutenant Governor's Cup are classes that recognize some of Canada’s best 3 yr old horses in hand and under saddle.

Mid Canada Hanoverian Group Formed

Members of the Western Hanoverian Club living in Central Canada have organized an informal group called the Mid Canada Hanoverian Group for planning and communication purposes for those people interested in our inspections and activities held in central Canada. The group is planning a 2011 Hanoverian Inspection and also hopes to hold a Mare Performance Test.

Wolkentanz II- Outstanding First Foal Crop In North America

Wolkentanz II’s first foal crop hit the ground in North America and the reviews from breeders, owners and Inspectors were great. With Premium and Top offspring in the Hanoverian and Oldenburg breed registries, Wolkentanz II continues to be great producer of talented, good moving, typey, rideable offspring according to the Hanoverian Verband and the WBFSH. Autocrat Half Brother Awarded Premium
& Licensed for Hanoverian

Autocrat now has a Hanoverian licensed half brother by Liberty Gold. This two and a half year old stallion (Liberty Gold – Matcho AA – Lombard) was awarded Premium at the 2010 Hanoverian Licensing in Germany and has the same mother (SPS Malvine) as Autocrat.

Astrix by Autocrat Reserve Champion Governor General's Cup & Fifth
in Lieutenant Governor's Cup At Toronto Royal 2010

Congratulations to Astrix (Autocrat x We Hilary), Steve Smith & Alexa Hell along with their rider and handler, Shara Pavan for a great showing at the 2010 Toronto Royal.

Astrix was the Reserve Champion of the Governor General's Cup (in hand) and 5th in the Lieutenant Governor's Cup (U/S) at the 2010 Toronto Royal Agricultural Winter fair. The Champion of both classes was Center Stage by Popeye K owned by Coventry lane Farm & ridden by Erin Ballard and handled by David Ballard.

Other than the Champion, Astrix was the only horse to place in the top 5 in both Cup classes.

Paul Hendrix of the Netherlands, one of the foremost sport horse experts in the world came to judge the 2010 Royal Cup classes and the Canadian Sport Horse classes along with co-judge Carlton Brooks (renowned U.S. hunter rider/coach/trainer). Paul Hendrix and his brother Emil are known world wide for their riding, training and breeding accomplishments. Hendrix is on the governing board of the KWPN. As well as breeding his own sport horses, he has selected horses for top international riders including Laura Kraut, Jessica Kurten, Markus Fuchs and Ian Millar.

Astrix also was the Canadian Sport Horse Champion 3 yr old Colt/gelding and the Canadian Sport Horse Senior Champion Colt/gelding at the Royal.

Apollo SN by Autocrat - Manitoba Provincial Dressage Champion

Apollo SN (Autocrat x Ferne) was the Manitoba Provincial Dressage Champion at Training Level in 2010 (Open Division). He competed throughout the year with scores many times above 70%. Congratulations to owner Dr. Shireen Naidoo and rider /trainer Gaetane Manaigre.

Wolkentanz II Offspring continue to Excel

The 10 yr old mare WAKANA, (Wolkentanz II x Wanderbursch II) ridden by Olympic medalist Ulla Salzgeber is winning consistently at Grand Prix level & is ranked 23rd in the world for 2010 by the FEI WBFSH Dressage Rankings.

WANTHANO (Wolkentanz II x Rubinstein), is in the top 1% of German Breeding Dressage Sires - 2010 German Breeding Value Index for Dressage Sires.

Austen Mutiple Hack Champion in 2010

5 Yr Old Austen by Autocrat out Lorann by Lorbas bred by Sharon Stebeleski , ridden by Allison Rempel & owned by Patti Woodman Hooker of Cambridge Meadows Winnipeg, Manitoba, had another good year in 2010.

Austen is a big boy standing at 17 .1 hh and in addition to Hack Championships also had some good ribbons over fences in 2010 in the Starter Hunters. Patty Woodman Hooker describes Austen as showing a lot of talent over fences. Congratulations to Patti & Allison at Cambridge Meadow Farms.

2010 Hanoverian Verband Inspection Results

This year the weather co-operated for the 2010 Hanoverian Verband Inspection and we had a great day filled with horses and socializing. We welcomed Dr. Ludwig Christmann again this year to Crooked Creek Farm near Neepawa, Manitoba.

There were more people than horses this year as we had a few mares that were unable to attend. We did have a good crowd watching, with some very nice people from Quebec attending who happened to be in Manitoba and wanted to come to our inspection.

The Oldenburg mare Ravenna was inspected by the Hanoverian Verband and entered into the Main Mare Book. Ravenna was bred by Nancy Schmidt of Crooked Creek Farm & is by the imported Oldenburg stallion, Radjah Z (by Ramiro Z) and out of Frangelica (by Fernet Branca by Furioso II).

Four foals (3 fillies & 1 colt), were inspected, registered and branded; three by Wolkentanz II and one by Schroeder.
The top filly was Whisper by Wolkentanz II out of Sabrina by Simply S.M. bred by Woodhaven Farms.

	Horse Productions & Arco Horse Productions emailed us from with a link to her 3 yr old lease horse Arco by Autocrat out of Evita by Eastern Ruler. She is trying him out for the first time on this video and her comments are "I just wanted to tell you that I lease him. (Arco) & He has turned out to be an amazing boy."
Sandra Harder & Epona This beautiful 3 yr old filly Epona, is by Autocrat out of a Half Arabian/Trakehner mare bred by Sandra Harder. We talked to her trainer, Lorraine Wilson who started her under saddle, and she said "She was a real pleasure to start"

2010 Oldenburg Verband Inspection Results

This year we were pleased to again welcome from Germany the inspectors Sarah Schroer & Bastian Scharmann, to Manitoba for what would be our 11th annual Oldenburg Inspection.

One mare was inspected this year. The imported Rheinlander mare Franchesca by Fidermark out of Domina by Dom Perignon bred by Hans Helmut Konigs and owned by Cynthia Rogers of Rhode Island, USA was accepted into the Oldenburg Main Mare Book.

Ana Isabellah (aka Izzy), a 3 yr old Hanoverian mare (Autocrat x Indullah) is being recognized by the American Hanoverian Society as the 2009 Reserve Champion for The Dr. Walter Hartwig Prize for the Best North American-bred Young Mare award.

Izzy’s 2010 show season was off to a good start at the Houston Dressage Society Winter Shows I & II held at the Great Southwest Equestrian Center, Katy, TX. Izzy was awarded with 4 blue ribbons in her 4 classes and was also awarded High Score Champion.

October 2008: Autocrat Daughter wins Both Governor General's Cup Qualifiers
for 2008 Toronto Royal Fair

Two different shows- Two different judges - same conclusion. The 3yr old filly Anna Kristina (Autocrat x Ophra by Sadler xx) bred & owned by Caroll & Martin Nasager is the top 3 yr old horse in Ontario (any breed) going into the prestigious Governor General's cup classes for the Royal.

Anna Kristina won the first qualifier, September 14th at the Royal Canadian Riding Academy out of a large class of 36 horses.
The second qualifier was at Twinholm, Ocober 5th and saw Anna Kristina place first place again out of a large field of 32 horses. She is from Autocrat’s first foal crop (3 yr old’s in 2008), and was shown by her amateur handler & owner Martin Nasager. Anna has been quietly growing up at home at Carol & Martin’s farm in Blackstock Ontario and had not been shown since she was a yearling in 2006.

The Governor General's Cup has a long history at the Royal and is for any registered three year old Canadian bred, foaled in Canada, suitable to become a Sport Horse - defined as a horse that is capable of excelling in the hunter, jumper dressage or eventing disciplines. The class is to be judged 50% on movement and 50% on conformation/type.

NEWSFLASH: Anna Kristina and her amateur owner/handler Martin Nasager glide into 2nd place in the Governor General's Cup at the 2008 Toronto Royal. Congratulations to Carroll & Martin Nasager for breeding this exquisite Autocrat filly. Also congratulations to Doreen Clausner, the owner of the lovely filly Haute Couture (handled by Ronnie Davidson) winner of the Governor General's Cup!
