The gorgeous young colt Absolut (Autocrat x Sugarpalm xx by Dr. Schwartzman xx) bred & owned by Susan Karashowsky, placed third in the CWHBA Foal Futurity held in Brandon Manitoba in September 2009. Rumor is that there is a trailer load of Autocrat offspring that would like to make the trip to the Toronto Royal one day!
Astrix (Autocrat x We Hilary) bred & owned by Steve Smith & Alexa Hell did well at the Ontario breed shows this year winning Over All Champion Two Year Old in Eastern Ontario. He also won Overall High Point Champion (all ages and sex) for Eastern Ontario for 2009.
Owner Steve and Alexa said: “We have a very nice trophy with his name on it. Autocrat is certainly getting lots of comments out this way. Auto was a very good match for us as we have an outstanding gelding as the result.”

Despite the truly wet & scary weather early in the morning of September 8th, the first Hanoverian Verband Inspection held in Manitoba was well received and well attended.
We welcomed Dr. Ludwig Christmann and Inga Hamilton to Tannenhof Stables owned by Dave & Elvira Toews of McGregor Manitoba.
Four mares were inspected (3 Hanoverians & 1 Oldenburg) with the following results:
The 4 yr old Hanoverian Mare ASIA by Autocrat out of Whoopi (Weltmeyer x Lungau) bred & owned by Kathleen Sulz of Woodhaven Farms was evaluated with an overall score of 8 and deemed an Elite Mare Candidate. This mare scored a 9 for her frame and
comments included “a very good walk”

Two different shows- Two different judges - same conclusion. The 3yr old filly Anna Kristina (Autocrat x Ophra by Sadler xx) bred & owned by Caroll & Martin Nasager is the top 3 yr old horse in Ontario (any breed) going into the prestigious Governor Generals cup classes for the Royal.
Anna Kristina won the first qualifier,
September 14th at the Royal Canadian Riding Academy out of a large class
of 36 horses.
The second qualifier was at Twinholm, Ocober 5th and saw Anna Kristina
place first place again out of a large field of 32 horses. She is from
Autocrat’s first foal crop (3 yr old’s in 2008), and was
shown by her amateur handler & owner Martin Nasager. Anna has been
